Luke Cooley Strikes Out 10 as the Warriors get Past #16 Kirkwood Community College

Luke Cooley dominated on the mound, striking out ten batters as the starting pitcher, leading the Warriors to a 12-4 victory over #16 Kirkwood CC on Saturday. Cooley allowed four hits and two runs over six innings with no walks.

The EC Warriors exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning to secure the win. Kelby Jordan singled to drive in one run, Mo Little grounded out to bring home another, Proskovec induced Trey Bridges to hit into a fielder's choice, resulting in a run, Jayden Adcox hit a sacrifice fly for another score, Reid Hall singled to bring in one more, and an error allowed two runs to score.

Kirkwood CC got on the board in the top of the third inning due to an error by the EC Warriors, with each scoring one run. Bridges added a solo home run to the right field at the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth, the EC Warriors extended their lead to 4-2 when Jordan doubled to drive in one run, and Little singled to bring in two more.

Carroll took the loss for Kirkwood CC, pitching four and one-third innings and giving up four runs on seven hits, with five strikeouts and two walks. Parker Martin appeared in relief for the EC Warriors.

The East Central Warriors amassed 13 hits in the game, with Little, Jordan, Hall, Brady McGee, Cyrus Rone, and Barret Rodgers each collecting two hits. Bridges, Little, Jordan, and Hall each drove in two runs. The EC Warriors showcased their speed on the basepaths, collecting five stolen bases and turning one double play defensively.
