Warriors Reach 4-0 in MACCC Play

The No. 1 East Central Warriors earned the sweep over No. 15 Meridian Community College by winning 7-5 and 4-3 in the two MACCC series at Clark/ Gay.

Trey Bridges drove in five runs on one hit to lead EC Warriors past Meridian CC Eagles.

7-5 on Wednesday. Bridges hit a grand slam to left field in the third inning, scoring four runs, and hit a sacrifice fly in the first inning, scoring one.
Despite falling by six runs in the sixth inning, Meridian CC Eagles tried to fight back. They closed the gap by scoring on a single and a home run.

Bridges hit a sacrifice fly, which helped EC Warriors tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

The Warriors took the lead in the bottom of the third. Bridges hit a grand slam to left field, giving the Warriors the advantage, 5-1.

Kelby Jordan homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth for the EC Warriors.

Kamryn Carlisle earned the win for the Warriors. The righty allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out none and walking one. Caleb Hall took the loss for the Meridian CC Eagles. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out none and walking one. Bryson Goff led things off on the bump for EC Warriors. The southpaw gave up six hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Rex Henderson appeared in relief for EC Warriors.

Jordan and Reid Hall each collected two hits for the EC Warriors, who turned one double play in the game. The EC Warriors were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Barret Rodgers made the most plays, with eight.

Game Two

It came down to the wire on Wednesday, as East Central Warriors grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Meridian CC Eagles. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the eighth when Kelby Jordan singled, scoring one run.

A single by Jacob Scott put the Eagles on the board in the top of the second.

In the bottom of the second, Brady McGee's single gave the EC Warriors the lead, 2-1.

The Eagles took the lead, 3-2, in the top of the third thanks to singles by Chris Watson and Ross Polizzi.

Marbin Lezcano earned the win for the Diamond Warriors. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking none. Andrew Prejean took the loss for the Meridian CC Eagles. The right-handed pitcher went one-third of an inning, allowing one run on one hit, striking out one, and walking two. Luke Cooley stepped on the bump first for the EC Warriors. The southpaw gave up eight hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Landon Waters began the game for Meridian CC Eagles. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking two. Rex Henderson, Kamryn Carlisle, and Parker Martin each threw scoreless innings for EC Warriors in relief.
McGee went 1-for-3 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. Barret Rodgers went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead EC Warriors in hits. EC Warriors turned one double play in the game.

Tomorrow, the Warriors will welcome No. 6 Southeastern Iowa back to Clark/ Gay for the third matchup this season.
