Warriors Sweep Mississippi Delta on Alumni Day

The No. 2 Diamond Warriors swept the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans 4-3 and 8-5 in games one and two. The Diamond Warriors are now 32-3 on the season overall and 13-3 in conference play.

Game One
In a game between the EC Warriors and the Mississippi Delta Trojans, Kelby Jordan's single in the bottom of the fifth inning put the Warriors on the board first. Brennan Surles then tripled for the Trojans in the top of the sixth to tie the game at one.

The EC Warriors regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Jayden Adcox doubled, bringing in two runs. Jordan's groundout later extended their lead to 4-1.

Chris Billingsley earned the win for the Warriors, pitching four and one-third innings and allowing two hits and two runs while striking out six and walking two. Nash Koczka took the loss for the Trojans, pitching seven innings and giving up four runs (one earned) on six hits, with six strikeouts and no walks. Barret Rodgers started the game for the Warriors, pitching two and two-thirds innings and allowing no runs on three hits, with two strikeouts and two walks. Marbin Lezcano collected the save.

Jayden Adcox led the Warriors offensively with two hits in three at-bats from the number seven spot. The Warriors played solid defense, committing no errors, with Adcox having the most fielding chances at eight.

Blake Channell was productive for the Trojans, driving in two runs from the number eight spot and going 2-for-4 in the game.

The Trojans showed patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks throughout the game, with Thomas Kuhn and Alford Hill each drawing two walks. They also turned two double plays defensively.

Game Two

In the opening inning, a single by Alford Hill, following a 6-pitch at-bat, put the Mississippi Delta Trojans on the scoreboard.

The EC Warriors regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after John Leyton Lewis singled and Brady McGee doubled, each contributing two runs.

The Warriors extended their lead further in the fifth inning, scoring three additional runs to make it 7-2. Trey Bridges homered to center field, bringing in two runs, and a steal of home added another.

Evan Folse pitched four innings for the EC Warriors, allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out two and walking four to earn the win. Tate Anderson suffered the loss for the Mississippi Delta Trojans, giving up seven runs on six hits over five innings, with one strikeout and four walks.

Kamryn Carlisle secured the save for the Warriors, with Riley Passman pitching two scoreless relief innings, allowing one hit while striking out two and walking one.

Bridges, Lewis, and Barret Rodgers each contributed two hits for the EC Warriors, with Bridges, Lewis, and McGee each driving in two runs.

For the Trojans, Brennan Surles, Thomas Kuhn, and Alford Hill each had one RBI. Kuhn led the team with two hits in three at-bats, while Hill drew three walks. The Trojans showed discipline at the plate, accumulating eight walks in the game. Foster Mitchell contributed two stolen bases.

Defensively, the Mississippi Delta Trojans played error-free baseball, with Jacob Brooks having the most fielding chances at six.
