East Central Community College Golf Coach Chris Clark has added another honor to the Warriors’ highly successful 2017-18 golf season, this time being named the Mississippi Association of Coaches Community College Golf Coach of the Year.
Led by the play of freshman Jacob Hamner, the East Central Community College golf team finished in 12th place at the 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Golf Championships held May 21-24 at GlenLakes Golf Club in Foley, Ala.
Chris Clark, head golf coach at East Central Community College in Decatur since 2011, has been named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Golf Co-Coach of the Year for 2017-18.
The East Central Community College golf team finished third in the National Junior College Athletic Association District D Championship, and in doing so earned a spot in the 2018 NJCAA Golf Championship to be played May 21-24 at GlenLakes Golf Club in Foley, Ala.
East Central Community College sophomore golfer David Barry of Laurel claimed eighth place as an individual to help lead the Warriors to a fourth-place finish at the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Conference/State Tournament held April 12-13 at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Choctaw.
The East Central Community College Warrior golfers had their best team showing of the season with a second place finish at Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Event No. 5 held March 23-24 at Ackia Golf Club in Amory.

The East Central Community College golf team claimed second place and had two golfers earn All-Tournament honors at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Fall Invitational held Oct. 16-17 at Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier.
East Central Community College golfers Bailey Threlkeld and Jacob Hamner tied for 15th place as the Warriors competed in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Conference Event No. 2 Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at Wolf Hollow Golf Club in Wesson.
The East Central Community College golf team improved 13 shots and three spots in the standings over the final day to finish tied for third place among community and junior college teams at MACJC Conference Event No. 1 held Sept. 23-24 at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Raymond.
