The East Central Community College men's tennis team is ranked No. 22 in the nation in the most recent Oracle/ITA National Junior College Athletic Association Top 25 poll released this month.
The ranking comes at the completion of the 2019 spring season during which the East Central men posted a 10-9 record after going 1-13 a season before.
The Warriors finished in sixth place at the 2019 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State/NJCAA Region 23 Tournament held April 10-12 in Tupelo.
"Our men's team was recognized nationally due to a nine-game improvement from last year and because of its competitive play with victories over nationally ranked Gadsden State (Ala.), Marion Military (Ala.), and Itawamba Community College to close season," said ECCC head tennis coach Jay Pacelli. "I'm very proud of their efforts."
