Lady Warriors homer twice in a 9-4 win over No. 6 PRCC

The 14th-ranked Lady Warriors, led by the impressive performances of Janci Aube and Reagan Bryan, proved to be up to the task against 6th-ranked Pearl River Community College, winning 9-4 in the playoffs' opening game. Aube and Bryan both went yard early, giving the Lady Warriors the early lead, and they did not look back.

 

In the top of the first, Janci Aube's home run to center field on a full count put the East Central Community College Lady Warriors on the board.

 

East Central Community College Lady Warriors added four more runs in the top of the second inning on two hits. Sydney Phillips singled, scoring one run; Jenna Chamblee hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run; and Reagan Bryan homered to left field, scoring two runs.

East Central Community College Lady Warriors added one run in the third after East Central Community College Lady Warriors scored on a passed ball.

 

Pearl River Community College scored one run in the bottom of the seventh on L Bailey's solo home run to right field.

Emily Collins earned the win for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and four runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking six. N Herrington took the loss for Pearl River Community College. They went seven innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking five. In relief, Aube threw one inning of no-run ball for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out one and walking two.

 

The Lady Warriors will face off with the No. 4 Jones College Bobcats tomorrow at 1 PM.
