The East Central Community College men's and women's tennis teams picked up their second MACJC conference sweep in as many days with a pair of wins at Copiah-Lincoln in Wesson on Friday, March 6.
The No. 20 East Central Lady Warriors defeated the No. 25 ranked Co-Lin Lady Wolves 7-2, while the Warriors defeated the Wolves 8-1.
The ECCC Lady Warriors are now 8-3 on the season and the Warriors are 7-4.
"It was a good victory for the women against a nationally ranked team," said ECCC Head Tennis Coach Jay Pacelli. "Marla Graham continues to play outstanding in the singles. Great team win for the men as well. Chris Lawrance played high-level tennis today."
Women's Doubles Results:
EC's Natalia Beltran (Bogota, Colombia) and Alejandra Vargas (Bogota, Colombia) defeated CL's Britany Barnett and Susana Patino, 9-8 (8-6); CL's Madison Shows and Mckenzie Shows defeated EC's Josie Hurst (Newton County) and Ali Grace Walker (Newton County), 8-5; and EC's Kayla Baucum (Newton County) and Marla Graham (Newton County Academy) defeated CL's Gracie Phillips and Maddalynn Boyte, 8-1.
Women's Singles Results:
EC's Beltran defeated CL's Barnett, 6-0, 6-0; CL's Patino defeated EC's Vargas, 6-0, 6-1; EC's Walker defeated CL's Madison Shows, 6-2, 6-0; EC's Hurst defeated CL's Mckenzie Shows, 6-3, 7-5; EC's Baucum defeated CL's Boyte, 6-1, 6-0; and EC's Graham defeated CL's Phillips, 6-0, 6-1.
Men's Doubles Results:
EC's Chris Lawrance (York, Western Australia) and Isaac Santitto (Innisfail, Queensland, Australia) defeated CL's Jordi Morey and Julian Toloza, 8-4; EC's Dylan Barnett (Newton County) and Peyton Chaney (Newton County) defeated CL's Skyler Rasberry and John Ready, 8-3; and EC's Dominick Donaldson (Florence) and Chris Albert (Vicksburg, St. Aloysius) defeated CL's Tyler Leggett and Duncan Falvey, 8-5.

EC's Lawrance defeated CL's Morey, 6-7, 6-4 (10-6); CL's Toloza defeated EC's Santitto, 6-1, 6-3; EC's Barnett defeated CL's Rasberry, 6-1, 6-3; EC's Chaney defeated CL's Ready, 6-1, 6-1; EC's Albert defeated CL's Samuel Boutwell, 7-6, 4-6 (10-3); and EC's Donaldson defeated CL's Preston Ivy, 6-2, 5-7 (10-1).
The Lady Warriors and Warriors will next host the nationally ranked teams from Jones College at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at the Tennis Complex on campus.
