3 Earn All-Conference, All-Region Soccer Honors

Five East Central Community College soccer players have been honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association or the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges for their play during the recently completed 2019 season.

Sophomore forward Leah Anderson of Leyland, United Kingdom, and sophomore midfielder Macey Spencer of Florence were named to the NJCAA Women's All-Region 23 Soccer Team. Anderson and freshman defender Susie Stevison of Long Beach were named to the MACJC Women's All-Conference Soccer Team.

Sophomore defender/midfielder Joel Hill, who prepped at Newton County High School, and sophomore forward/midfielder Terrell Johnson of Jackson Murrah were named to the MACJC Men's All-Conference Soccer Team.

Anderson scored 16 goals this season for the Lady Warriors, including two hat tricks. She tied for the most goals in a career with 22 and is in second place all-time in most goals in a season.

Spencer started all 17 matches and scored seven goals. She led the Lady Warriors with seven assists. Stevison started all 17 matches this season as a freshman.

Anderson and Spencer will play in the 2019 MACJC Sophomore Women's All-Star Soccer Match on Saturday, Nov. 16, in Ridgeland.

Hill started all 18 matches for the Warriors and had a team-leading five assists. Johnson also started all 18 matches this year and led the team with five goals scored.

Both Hill and Johnson will play in the 2019 MACJC Sophomore Men's All-Star Soccer Match on Nov. 16.

Both the ECCC Warriors and Lady Warriors advanced to the first round of the MACJC State Playoffs at the conclusion of the 2019 regular season.
