The East Central Community College Warriors traveled to Pensacola, Fla. to open the 2023 season and dropped a pair of games, one to Mineral Area, 2-1, and another to Pensacola State, 3-1. 

Game One vs Mineral Area, L, 2-1

Mineral Area took an early lead with an RBI single in the first inning, and another off an RBI single in the sixth. A sacrifice fly from Brady McGee pushed in Cyrus Rone for ECCC's lone run.

Mason Willis picked up the loss on the bump, allowing four hits and one run over five innings with five strikeouts.

At the plate, Mo Little, Rone, David Burton, and Cade Hall all had one hit to lead the Warriors.

Game Two vs Pensacola State, L, 3-1

An RBI double from Pensacola State put the Pirates on top, 1-0. Little drove in the tying run in the fourth inning on a fielder's choice, but the Pirates got it right back in the fourth making it 2-1.

A wild pitch in the sixth, made it 3-1, in favor of Pensacola State. 

Brendon Minor took the loss for the Warriors, pitching four innings and allowing three hits and two runs.

Leading the way for the Warriors at the plate were Ramie Harrison, Eli Collins, and David Burton, who each collected one hit.
