Two Warriors named baseball All-Americans

DECATUR, Miss. – Two players from East Central Community College's baseball team were honored with placement on junior college All-America teams this week.

Eli Collins was named a First Team All-American by JBB, a publication devoted exclusively to junior college baseball. Mo Little was honored as a Second Team All-American by the NJCAA.

A sophomore from Laurel, Miss. (Northeast Jones), Collins led the Warriors in hitting (.411), on-base percentage (.534), and slugging percentage (.711). His 78 hits and eight triples also led the team during their 2023 campaign that saw the Warriors reach the NJCAA Division II World Series.

A second baseman, Collins will continue his collegiate baseball career in the Magnolia State as he will transfer to NCAA Division I Southern Mississippi for the 2023-24 academic year. The Eagles are coming off a 46-20 season that included a Sun Belt Conference championship and a trip to NCAA Tournament Super Regionals after winning the Auburn Regional Tournament.

Little, a freshman from Brandon, Miss. (Brandon HS), was the team's leading power hitter in 2023. He led the Warriors with 12 homeruns and 70 RBIs while hitting .340 and compiling a .624 slugging percentage.

His 70 RBIs led the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC), while Little's 12 homeruns ranked fifth in the league.
