Harrison named to ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove team

DECATUR, Miss. – East Central Community College baseball player Ramie Harrison earned national recognition this week when he was named the first baseman on the NJCAA Division II ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

A sophomore from Philadelphia, Miss. (Neshoba Central), Harrison was the Warriors' top fielder in 2023, as he committed only one error in 308 total chances for a .997 fielding percentage.

An all-around player, Harrison was also a force at the plate this season, batting .368 and compiling a .500 on-base percentage. He was a key contributor to EC's MACCC championship team that advanced to the NJCAA's Division II World Series.

Harrison is one of several Warrior baseball players that will transfer to a four-year college program in time for the 2024 season. He will join the Alabama–Huntsville Chargers baseball team, a NCAA Division II program and member of the Gulf South Conference.

The Chargers, who finished 29-21 in 2023, will welcome Harrison's bat and glove to a team that finished third in the GSC with a 20-10 conference record.
