East Central Community College Diamond Warriors quickly dispatched St. Charles Community College Cougars on Thursday, 14-6.
Warriors got on the board in the first inning after Barret Rodgers doubled, scoring one run.

Warriors added two runs in the second after Cyrus Rone singled.
St. Charles CC Cougars tied the game in the top of the third quarter thanks to a home run to left field by Henry Kufa and a single by Grant Huebner.

A single by Liam Gilbert gave EC Warriors the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third.

Four more EC Warriors runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 9-3.

Brady McGee homered to center field, scoring two runs; Mo Little doubled, scoring one run; and Gilbert drew a walk, scoring one run.
Trae Winn earned the win for the EC Warriors. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking four. Tyler Timmerman took the loss for the Cougars. Trae Winn went three innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out five, and walking two. Connor Aplin, Parker Martin, and Riley Passman each threw scoreless innings for EC Warriors in relief.

EC Warriors piled up 16 hits in the game. Kelby Jordan led EC Warriors with three hits in six at-bats. Little drove the middle of the lineup, leading EC Warriors with three runs batted in.

They went 2-for-4 on the day. Gilbert, Marvin Jackson, McGee, Rone, and Rodgers each collected multiple hits for EC Warriors. Reid Hall led the EC Warriors with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Gilbert, Hall, and Rodgers each stole multiple bases for EC Warriors. EC Warriors ran wild on the base paths, tallying ten stolen bases for the game.
Luke Erickson and Kufa were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for St. Charles CC Cougars. Huebner led St. Charles CC Cougars with two hits in three at-bats.
