Warriors continue to stay hot coming into the 2024 season. The Warriors improved to 11-0 after defeating the #16 Kirkwood Eagles for a second time this weekend. The Warriors had a great showing, overcoming the demanding opponent schedule at this year's 2024 OCHSNER INVITATIONAL.
Barret Rodgers went 3-for-3 at the plate as the EC Warriors dominated Kirkwood CC with a 10-0 victory on Sunday. Rodgers singled in the first, third, and sixth innings. The EC Warriors took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning when Kelby Jordan hit a sacrifice fly, and Mo Little singled, bringing in one run each.
In the third inning, Rodgers' single and Reid Hall's fielder's choice helped extend their lead. The team added five more runs in the sixth inning, with Rodgers' single bringing in two runs, Little's single bringing in one, and Trey Bridges hitting a home run to left field for two more runs.
Bryson Goff secured the win as the left-handed pitcher, giving up only one hit and no runs over five and one-third innings while striking out five and walking three. Payne took the loss for Kirkwood CC, allowing five runs on seven hits over four innings. Kamryn Carlisle appeared in relief for the EC Warriors.
Little and Rodgers were standout performers, each collecting three hits, while Nic Arender and Brady McGee also contributed multiple hits. The EC Warriors displayed strong defense, committing zero errors, with Jayden Adcox having the most chances in the field with seven.
