Diamond Warriors Extended Their Win Streak in Ellisville

The Diamond Warriors earned two tough wins Tuesday on the road at Jones College. With wins over Co-Lin and Jones College, the Warriors are now 13-0 on the young 2023-2024 season.

The Diamond Warriors won big over Co-Lin CC 11-1 on Tuesday at Jones College. The Warriors got on the board at the top of the first inning after Kelby Jordan homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Trey Bridges grounded out, scoring one run.

A double by Barret Rodgers extended the East Central Warriors lead 5-1 in the top of the second inning. Warriors added to their early lead at the top of the third inning after John Leyton Lewis doubled and Brady McGee singled, each scoring one run.

Rex Henderson earned the win for the East Central Warriors. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking none. Morgan took the loss for Co-Lin CC. They went three innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out five and walking one. Evan Folse, Reid Hall, and Eli Smith each threw scoreless innings for EC Warriors in relief.

Warriors collected 13 hits in the game. Nic Arender, Lewis, McGee, and Rodgers each collected two hits for EC Warriors. Rodgers drove the middle of the lineup, leading EC Warriors with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Mo Little stole two bases. EC Warriors ran wild on the base paths, tallying three stolen bases for the game.
EC Warriors didn't commit a single error in the field. Rodgers had the most chances in the field, with nine.

In the night game, Reid Hall drove in five runs on two hits to lead
EC Warriors past Jones College 16-7 on Tuesday. Hall doubled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the ninth inning, scoring two.
The Warriors collected 13 hits, and Jones College had seven in the high-scoring affair.
EC Warriors jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Brady McGee singled, scoring one run; Barret Rodgers was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Mo Little hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Hall doubled, scoring three runs.
Jones College scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Brady Thomas.
EC Warriors scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the ninth inning. Rodgers singled, scoring one run; Little drew a walk, scoring one run; Trey Bridges doubled, scoring one run; Hall doubled, scoring two runs; and McGee singled, scoring two runs.
Kamryn Carlisle earned the win for the East Central Warriors. They allowed two hits and three runs (two earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking two. Andrew Marble took the loss for Jones College. The righty went four innings, surrendering six runs on five hits, striking out three and walking six. Trae Winn stepped on the mound first for EC Warriors. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two. Riley Passman tossed two innings of zero-run ball for EC Warriors in relief. The lefty surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
EC Warriors piled up 13 hits in the game.

Langston Cotten, Hall, Kelby Jordan, McGee, and Cyrus Rone each collected two hits for EC Warriors. Bridges paced EC Warriors with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 13 walks for the game. The Warriors stole four bases in the game.

The Warriors will take on Jackson State Community College in Decatur this weekend for a three-game home series.
