Story Book Win No 500 for Head Coach Neal Holliman

The Diamond Warriors secured Head Baseball Coach Neal Holliman his 500th career win at East Central Community College. Maintaining their stellar performance this season, they hold a MACCC-best 18-0 record. Yet, winning No. 500 proved challenging as the visiting Lions displayed their best game at Clark/Gay Baseball Complex.

It came down to the wire on Tuesday, as EC Warriors grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 10-8, over East Mississippi. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the tenth when Brady McGee homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Mo Little homered in the first and eighth innings. Little hit two home runs in the victory.

Jayden Adcox hit a solo home run to left field at the bottom of the second place for the East Central Warriors.

East Mississippi scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to left field by Joseph Scarborough.

East Mississippi flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring six runs on six hits to take a 7-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Scarborough that drove in two.
EC Warriors made the score 8-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning when Little hit a solo home run to left field, and Adcox drew a walk, scoring one run.

The Warriors tied the game in the bottom of the ninth thanks to a triple by Trey Bridges and a single by Liam Gilbert.

John Layton Lewis reached base with a single in the bottom of the tenth inning. Cyrus Rone entered the game as a pinch runner for Lewis, positioning the winning run at first base. With a count of three balls and two strikes, Brady McGee delivered a decisive blow, launching a two-run homer over the left field wall.

Parker Martin earned the win for the Diamond Warriors. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none. Drake Bayles took the loss for East Mississippi. The righty went two innings, allowing three runs on two hits, striking out two and walking two. Luke Cooley stepped on the mound first for East Central. The left-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and one run over six innings, striking out ten and walking two.

In relief, Evan Folse threw one and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for the Warriors. They gave up one hit, striking out two and walking one.
EC Warriors piled up 13 hits in the game. Bridges led EC Warriors with four hits in five at-bats.

This Sunday, the Warriors will welcome No 4 Lansing Community College to Clark/Gay Baseball Complex at 1 PM.
