Warriors Split with MACCC Opponent Co-Lin

Warriors split home series against MACCC opponent Co-Lin. The Warriors entered the series at No. 1 in the NJCAA DII baseball poll. The series split brings the Warriors to a 32-2 record on the season.

Game One

Reid Hall hit two home runs and drove in five as EC Warriors defeated Co-Lin CC 8-4 on Wednesday. Hall homered in the eighth and fifth innings.
Co-Lin CC opened the scoring in the fourth after McKenzie lined out, scoring one run.

Hall homered to right field on an 0-2 count, which helped EC Warriors tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.
Co-Lin CC took the lead in the top of the sixth. Jones hit a solo home run to left field, giving Co-Lin CC the upper hand, 2-1.

EC Warriors captured the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the seventh when Langston Cotten laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs, and Nic Arender doubled, scoring one run.

McClenty hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the eighth for the Co-Lin CC.

Hall hit a grand slam to right field in the bottom of the eighth for the EC Warriors.

Marbin Lezcano earned the win for the Warriors. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over seven and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two.

Morgan took the loss for Co-Lin CC. The starting pitcher went six and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out four and walking five. Kamryn Carlisle collected the save.
Trey Bridges led EC Warriors with two walks.
Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game.
Jones led Co-Lin CC with two hits in four at-bats. Co-Lin CC was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Cook had the most chances in the field with seven.

Game Two

Wednesday's game against Co-Lin CC was a heartbreaker for EC Warriors, as they lost the lead late in a 3-1 defeat. The game was tied at one in the top of the seventh when an error scored two runs.

Luke Cooley struck out ten batters on the day. The lefty also surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings while walking two.

EC Warriors opened the scoring in the fourth after Jayden Adcox singled, scoring one run.
Co-Lin CC jumped into the lead in the top of the seventh when Rex Henderson induced Bankston to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and an error scored two runs.

Gollott stepped on the bump first for Co-Lin. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Adcox and Barret Rodgers each collected two hits for EC Warriors. Adcox led EC Warriors with one run batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day.

Bankston went 1-for-4 at the plate as the leadoff hitter led the team with one run batted in. Bankston, Mckenzie, Berry, and Evans each collected one hit for Co-Lin CC. Co-Lin CC turned one double play in the game. Co-Lin CC was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Evans had the most chances in the field with six.

On Friday, the Warriors will travel to Booneville, MS, to take on Northeast Mississippi Community College.
