Warriors get top 10 sweep after lenghthy weather delay

This week's series with Jones College turned out to be an instant classic. Game one began on Tuesday night and had to be put on pause due to inclement weather that swept across the southeast. Once the series resumed on Friday from Decatur, Jayden Adcox delivered a walk-off single that easily brought in the winning run ( Mo Little). In game two, sophomore Luke Cooley continued his stellar season, keeping the No. 8 Jones College Bobcats at bay.

In an intense MACCC matchup, the EC Warriors secured a 7-6 walk-off victory against Jones College. The game was tied until the bottom of the fifteenth inning when Jayden Adcox's single brought in the winning run.

Brady McGee was pivotal at the plate, drawing three walks in eight plate appearances.

The Warriors took an early lead in the third inning, scoring a run on Barret Rodgers' single and Mo Little's sacrifice fly.

Jones College tied the game 2-2 in the fifth inning on hits by Brady Thomas and Wade Fulton.

A solo home run by McGee in the fifth put EC Warriors ahead 3-2.

Jones College surged ahead in the eighth inning with runs by Evan Rogers and Cole Manuel and an RBI groundout by Hays Carley.

An error by Jones College allowed EC Warriors to tie the game 5-5 in the ninth inning.

In the thirteenth, Jones College took a 6-5 lead with an RBI single by Carley, but EC Warriors responded with a tying run from Trey Bridges.

Evan Folse earned the win for EC Warriors with a decisive closing inning, while Connor Aplin pitched impressively in relief.

Collin Pipkins took the loss for Jones College.

The Warriors totaled 11 hits, led by Mo Little, who had two RBIs. Nic Arender, Liam Gilbert, and Brady McGee each contributed two hits. Trey Bridges drew four walks. The team displayed discipline at the plate with 14 walks and executed one double play.

Jones College amassed 15 hits, led by Rogers. Marquette Gibson drew two walks.

Game Two

In a Friday matchup, the EC Warriors surged to a 5-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 6-4 victory over Jones College despite a late charge by their opponents.

The Warriors opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with Mo Little's single and Reid Hall's walk, each driving in a run.

They extended their lead in the third inning as Jayden Adcox walked, and a wild pitch allowed East Central to score another run.

Jones College mounted a comeback in the sixth inning, scoring four runs on Brady Thomas's grand slam to center field.

Luke Cooley earned the win for EC Warriors, pitching five and one-third innings, giving up two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and four walks. Beau Bryans took the loss for Jones College, allowing four runs (three earned) on one hit over three innings, with five strikeouts and seven walks.

Riley Passman secured the save for the East Central Warriors.

Mo Little, Brady McGee, Barret Rodgers, and Cyrus Rone each contributed a hit for the Warriors. Trey Bridges, Reid Hall, and Mo Little each drove in a run. Little led the team with three walks. EC Warriors demonstrated disciplined batting with 12 walks and executed one double play. They also stole three bases and played error-free defense.

For Jones College, Wade Fulton and Colton Hegwood each had two hits. Brady Thomas led the team with four RBIs. Hegwood stole two bases, and Jones College totaled three stolen bases. They turned one double play and played error-free defensively, with Cole Manuel having the most fielding chances.

This victory showcased strong pitching and disciplined play by the Warriors, who capitalized on early opportunities and weathered Jones College's late offensive surge to secure the win.
