Five Diamond Warriors Recieve All-Conference Recongition!

Decatur, MS - Four Warriors received all-conference recognition for their play this season on the diamond. Ace Luke Cooley and Hitter Mo Little lead the list, earning first-team all-conference. Brady McGee earned second-team designation. Barret Rodgers and Marbin Lezcano earn honorable mention.

Sophomore Luke Cooley of Waynesboro, MS, has been named Pitcher of the Year and was part of the first-team all-conference. Cooley, who is fourth in all of NJCAA DII for total strikeouts with ONE HUNDRED and FIVE, has an 8-1 record on the season. We are thrilled to announce that Cooley plans to attend LA-Tech to continue his collegiate baseball career, a future that promises more exciting moments on the field.

Sophomore Mo Little of Brandon, MS, was named first-team OF and second-team INF by the MACCC. Little hit for .354, 73 RBI, and 11 home runs. Little plans to attend Southeastern Louisana to continue his collegiate baseball career.

Sophomore Brady McGee of Lake, MS, was named second-team all-MACCC. Brady, the lead hitter for the Warriors, delivered a .336 average, 46 RBI, and 77 runs scored. McGee provided some memorable moments this season, including a walk-off home run to give Head Coach Neal Holliman his 500th win, returning from injury in the playoffs and hitting a double in his first at-bat vs. North East Mississippi Community College. McGee also plays to attend Southeastern Louisana to continue his collegiate baseball career.

Freshman first baseman Barret Rodgers was tabbed as an honorable mention. Rodgers led the Warriors at the plate with a .397 batting average. Rodgers also hit five home runs, 53 RBIs, and ten stolen bases. Rodgers was also solid on defense, with a .976 fielding percentage. 

Marbin Lezcano of Panama was named an honorable MACCC mention. Lezcano earned eight wins in ten starts. Lezcano threw forty-four strikeouts and a 2.90 ERA.

 

The Warriors, as the third overall seed, will now turn their attention to the NJCAA DII World Series. They will play the winner of the Madison/ Montgomery on Sunday at 4 PM in Enid, Oklahoma.
