Pablo Roque collected three hits in four at-bats as East Central CC Baseball defeated MMI Tigers 4-3 on Friday. Roque hit a solo home run to left field in the eighth inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.
East Central didn't take the lead until the late innings of game one. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the eighth when Roque hit a solo home run to left field.
MMI Tigers got on the board in the second inning after Noah Sumners grounded out, scoring one run.
East Central Baseball took the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the second thanks to singles by Brady McAbee and John Lewis.
Nate Valles homered to left field, which helped the MMI Tigers tie the game at three in the top of the seventh.

Landon Alton opened the game for the Tigers. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Jayden Adcox collected the save. Valles went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one batted-in run. Hayden Markfort, Dylan Lewkutz, Francisco Ramirez, Valles, and Cade Carpenter each collected one hit for MMI Tigers '25. MMI Tigers '25 turned two double plays in the game. MMI Tigers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Markfort made the most plays with five.

2025 East Central CC Baseball Surge Past MMI to Earn the Sweep Thanks To a Big Fifth Inning
The Warriors defeated MMI Tigers 9-1 on Friday, thanks partly to five runs in the fifth inning. Langston Cotten was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Eli Smith doubled, scoring two runs, and Pablo Roque doubled, scoring two runs.
The Diamond Warriors was the first to get on the board in the second when Cotten hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Riley Friend walked, which helped MMI Tigers tie the game at one in the top of the third.
East Central jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Nic Arender doubled to left field, Ryan Hardin hit a sacrifice fly, and Tigers committed an error, each scoring one run.
Andrew Nielson earned the win for East Central CC Baseball. The right-handed pitcher allowed five hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Jeremiah Navarro took the loss for Tigers '25. The hurler went two-thirds innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on one hit, striking out none and walking six. Braxton Rone, Creed Fulton, and Ty Derrick each took relief for East Central CC Baseball and shut down the Tigers.
John Lewis, Smith, Arender, and Roque each collected one hit for 2025 East Central CC Baseball. Smith, Cotten, and Roque each drove in two runs for East Central CC Baseball. East Central had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Arender and Hardin led the team with two bases on balls each.
