Diamond Warriors Sweep Lawson State in Exciting Fashion

Decatur, MS-East Central Community College baseball improved to 14-3 after a dominant weekend sweep of Lawson State Community College. The Warriors secured two thrilling walk-off victories, including a 13-12 win in Game 1 and a 4-3 extra-inning triumph in Game 3, while also cruising to a 9-0 shutout in Game 2 behind a stellar pitching performance from Kamryn Carlisle. Clutch hitting, strong pitching, and timely defense fueled the series sweep as East Central continued to build momentum early in the season.

Game 1: Warriors Walk It Off in 13-12 Thriller

East Central Community College pulled off a dramatic 13-12 walk-off victory over Lawson State Community College on Saturday. John Lewis delivered the game-winning RBI single with the game tied at 12 in the bottom of the ninth.

Barrett Rodgers led the offense with a grand slam and four RBIs, while Landon Moore also hit a grand slam in the sixth inning. The Warriors exploded for six runs in the second inning, setting the tone early.

Marbin Lezcano earned the win in relief, allowing no hits or runs over 1.2 innings. East Central collected 10 hits, with Moore, Rodgers, and Lewis each tallying two.

Lawson State fought back with a five-run seventh inning, including a three-run homer from Devin Lee, but the Warriors held on for the walk-off win.


Game 2: Carlisle Dominates in 9-0 Shutout

Kamryn Carlisle was dominant on the mound in Game 2, striking out 12 while allowing just one hit over five innings in East Central's 9-0 win.

The Warriors took control in the second inning, scoring five runs, highlighted by Barrett Rodgers' two-run single and a two-run hit from Landon Moore.

Nic Arender and Rodgers contributed RBIs in the third as East Central extended its lead. Ty Derrick closed out the game with two shutout innings in relief.

Rodgers drove in three runs, while Langston Cotten led the team with two hits.


Game 3: Another Walk-Off Seals the Sweep

Sunday's finale saw East Central earn another walk-off win, edging Lawson State 4-3 in extra innings. With the game tied in the 10th, Jayden Adcox singled to bring home the game-winning run.

Adcox put the Warriors on the board in the first inning, while Langston Cotten's seventh-inning RBI single tied it at 2-2. After Lawson State took the lead in the eighth, Rodgers responded with a game-tying RBI single.

Chris Billingsley Jr. picked up the win, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. Bryson Goff started the game, allowing two runs over 6.2 innings with three strikeouts.

East Central finished with nine hits, with Rodgers, Adcox, and Ryan Nelson each collecting two.

The Warriors' clutch performances led to a series sweep, setting them up with momentum for the remainder of the season.
