
SCOOBA, Miss. – March 12, 2025 – The East Central Community College (ECCC) Warriors earned a hard-fought split in their conference doubleheader against East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) on Wednesday. The Warriors took Game One in a 4-3 thriller before falling 4-1 in the nightcap.
Game One: East Central 4, East Mississippi 3
East Central set the tone early, securing a 4-3 victory in the opener with timely hitting and strong pitching. After falling behind 2-1 in the fourth inning, the Warriors responded with three runs in the middle frames to take control.
A clutch two-RBI performance from Ryan Nelson helped lift ECCC, while a solid outing from Bryson Goff (5-0) on the mound kept the Warriors in front. East Mississippi attempted a late comeback, but Marbin Lezcano shut the door in the final inning to seal the win.

The momentum didn't carry over into Game Two, as East Central's offense struggled against a dominant pitching performance from East Mississippi's Trace Tingle. The Warriors were held to just two hits and one run, which came in the second inning.
East Mississippi broke through in the fifth with four runs, capitalizing on key walks and timely hits to take the lead. Despite a strong effort from Chris Bilingsley (3-1), who struck out eight over 4.2 innings, the Warriors couldn't mount a comeback.
