Grant Griffin steps into his first season as assistant baseball coach with the Diamond Warriors, where he will work primarily with outfielders, hitters, and recruiting. Griffin, a native of  Baton Rouge, Louisiana, graduated from East Ascension High School in Gonzales, Louisiana. He prepped at East Ascension High School, hitting .371 as a senior with nine doubles, two triples, and 33 RBIs. He was voted to the 1st team All-District and made the All-Region team in the 5A-Division 1 Class in Louisiana. Before his coaching venture began in 2019, he signed to play junior college baseball at Nunez Community College and was named to the Region 23 All-Academic team for both seasons. While playing at Nunez, he started in the outfield for both seasons, leading the team in stolen bases, was a team captain, and received his associate's degree in General Studies. During the summer of 2021, he participated in the Southeast Collegiate League (SECL) all over Mississippi. The Baton Rouge Native recently graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) in August of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration. Grant started his coaching career in 2022 with USA Prime, a nationally recognized baseball program, where he developed a passion for coaching. During the Spring of 2023 and 2024, he coached high school baseball at The Dunham School and East Ascension High School in south Louisiana. This past summer, he started his developmental high school organization, Louisiana Scout, featuring all high school seniors who will play at the collegiate level.
