Zachary Crane steps into the role of pitching coach for the 2024-2025 Diamond Warriors. His coaching journey began as a Graduate Assistant at his Alma Mater, Hilbert College, before he assumed the pitching coach position at Hamilton College in the New England Small Collegiate Athletic Conference for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. During the summers of 2021 and 2022, Crane served as pitching coach for the Geneva Red Wings in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL), achieving a notable record of 46-26 and guiding the team to the 2021 PGCBL semifinals. The following summer, he joined the Hornell Steamers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) as an Assistant Coach. Before his coaching career, the Auburn, N.Y., native competed for four seasons at Hilbert College after transferring from Nova Southeastern University. In 2018, Crane made history as the first freshman in Hilbert's baseball program to earn a spot on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Tournament Team. He led the AMCC in complete games the following season and reached a career milestone as the eighth pitcher in program history to surpass 100 career innings during his junior year. Crane was also recognized on the 2021 NCAA Division III Players to Watch List by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Magazine. He concluded his Hilbert career ranked second all-time in games started and within the top six in 18 statistical categories. Crane graduated from Hilbert in May 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Sport Industry Management and recently completed his master's degree in Sports Administration from Canisius College.
