East Central Falls Short Against Hinds, 17-13

The Warriors hoped for a bounce-back victory against the Hinds Eagles, but it was not to be. The first score of the game came on a Chris Tucker 24-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Howard. Cade Mangum kicked a successful PAT. The score was 7-0 in favor of the Warriors.

The Eagles responded early in the second quarter with a three-yard TD pass. Hinds took the lead just before halftime on a 25-yard field goal. When the first half horn sounded the score was Hinds 10, East Central 7.

Early in the second half, the Warriors tied the score with a Mangum 38-yard field goal. The game was a defensive battle until the fourth quarter. The Eagles found the endzone for a second time to retake the lead before Mangum nailed his second field goal of the night to cut the lead to 17-13. The Warriors had one last gasp at victory in the final seconds of the game. Tucker's hail mary pass was intercepted in the endzone and that was the final play of the night.
