Lewis and Williams Lead the Warriors to Home Win

The Warriors had a victorious start to the spring semester with a home win over the visiting Bears from Bevill State Community College. This win brings their record to .500 in the 2023-2024 Men's basketball season.

DeAnthony Lewis gave the Warriors a burst of energy off the bench with his valuable minutes, including a late ferocious slam dunk that fired up the crowd. Isiah Williams and DeAnthony Lewis both scored 13 points each, leading the Warriors in scoring.

The first half was a close match, with both teams trading runs. The Warriors began the game with four consecutive points, thanks to a free throw by Jaylin McNair and a quick three-pointer by Demarcus Powe, with an assist from Connor Rogers. The Bears then took a five-point lead, but Connor Rogers made a timely basket that started a rapid 7-point run by the Warriors.

The Warriors went into halftime with a three-point lead.

Isaiah Williams led the Warriors offensively in the second half with 10 points, making all three of his three-point attempts. The Warriors shot well from the field, with a team total of 53% overall and 44% from three.

Next up, the Warriors will face off against Baton Rouge Post-Grad on Tuesday night in Decatur.
