Decatur,MS - After a solid district tournament showing, the Warrior golf team has secured a spot in the nationals, marking their first qualification in eight years. The team is all set to showcase their skills at the Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin, Missouri.

"I am very proud of the young men who we have representing this program, said head coach Scott Hill. "They have worked so hard all year, and it is really nice to see them rewarded for their play this week in the regional tournament.  It was also a huge accomplishment for freshman Will Thompson to grab All-Region tournament team honors with his outstanding play. We look forward to the trip to Joplin where the national tournament is held this year.  Last year, Gage Miller represented us with an individual bid to the national tournament.  It is really exciting to make the jump this year to having the entire team earn their way into the National tournament."   

Freshman All-Region selection Will Thompson continues to thrive this season, leading the Warriors. Thompson scored 71, 73, and 69 in the three-day tournament, respectively. The Warriors shot 295, 303, and 289 as a team in the three-round format. 

The national tournament is set to take place at the end of May in Joplin,MO.
