Freshman midfielder Terrell Johnson scored the lone goal of the match in the 64th minute to give the East Central Community College Warriors a 1-0 win over Mississippi University for Women in an exhibition soccer match Wednesday, Aug. 22, in Decatur.
Johnson, who prepped at Jackson Murrah, was assisted by sophomore midfielder Dillon Green out of Warren Central in Vicksburg.
It was the final preseason match for the Warriors as they now enter regular season play. First up is a match at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24. Following a trip to Poplarville to face Pearl River Community College at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, East Central will play its home opener against Itawamba Community College on Friday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. at the Soccer Field on the campus in Decatur.
