The East Central Community College Warriors traveled to Cuthbert, Ga., for a rare out-of-state soccer match Aug. 27 and brought home a 3-2 win over the Andrew College Fighting Tigers.

The Warriors moved to 1-1 on the season with the win. Andrew College fell to 0-1.

Picking up goals for East Central were sophomore midfielder Terrell Johnson (Jackson Murrah), freshman forward Kai VanCourt (Long Beach), and freshman midfielder Hugo Chagas (Fortaleza, Brazil). VanCourt and freshman defender George Mota (Fortaleza, Brazil) had assists.

The East Central men and women will travel to Summit Friday, Aug. 30, for non-division matches against Southwest. The women play at 2 p.m. and the men at 4 p.m.

The home openers are scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 4, when Holmes visits Decatur for matches at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
