Lady Warriors Add Two Wins on Sophomore Day

Lady Warriors improved to 16-4, adding two more wins on Sophomore Day. Coach Leigh White has the Lady Warriors clicking so far this season.
Both teams were strong in the circle on Sunday, but East Central Community College Lady Warriors defeated Baton Rouge 3-0. Janci Aube started the game for East Central Community College Lady Warriors and recorded 21 outs.

A double by Catherine Stroud put East Central Community College Lady Warriors on the board in the bottom of the fourth.

Aube earned the win for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking three. #14 took the loss for Baton Rouge. The starting pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering zero runs on three hits, striking out none, and walking none.

Sophia Romero went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the East Central Community College Lady Warriors in hits. Stroud, the number seven hitter, also led the way with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day.

East Central Community College Lady Warriors took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Northwest Shoals CC committed an error; Kaitlyn Jones walked, Sarah Grace Jones walked, and Sydney Phillips singled, each scoring one run.

East Central Community College Lady Warriors scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Catherine Stroud.

East Central Community College Lady Warriors scored four more runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jenna Chamblee homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Jones drew a walk, scoring one run.
Emily Collins earned the win for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The righty allowed five hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking two.

Taylor Cameron took the loss for Northwest Shoals CC. The starting pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on ten hits, striking out two and walking seven.

Chamblee, Reagan Bryan, and Stroud each collected two hits for the East Central Community College Lady Warriors. Chamblee seized on opportunities, leading the Lady Warriors with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. The Lady Warriors were patient at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game.

Sophia Romero, Jones, and Jones led the team with two bases on balls. East Central Community College Lady Warriors turned one double play in the game.
