No. 14 Lady Warriors earn tough split with No. 5 PRCC

Decatur, MS - The Lady Warriors earned a home doubleheader split with fifth-ranked Pearl River Community College. The Lady Warriors were hot in game one, jumping out to an early lead, but the Lady Wildcats responded two with some stout defense.

Game One

East Central Community College Lady Warriors opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two singles. They first got on the board when Janci Aube singled, scoring two runs.

Three more Lady Warriors runs crossed the plate in the second inning, extending the lead to 6-0.

Reagan Bryan singled, scoring one run, and Sophia Romero homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Emily Collins earned the win for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. L Bailey took the loss for Pearl River Community College. The starting pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking none.

Aube and Romero were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for East Central Community College Lady Warriors.

Romero led East Central Community College Lady Warriors with two hits in three at-bats.

Sydney Phillips stole three bases. East Central Community College Lady Warriors stole three bases in the game.

Womack went 1-for-1 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in. Toups, Bailey, and Womack each collected one hit for Pearl River Community College. Pearl River Community College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Riche had the most chances in the field with seven.

Game Two

Pearl River Community College got on the board in the top of the third inning after L Bailey drew a walk, scoring one run; B Daughtery singled, scoring two runs; A Rounsaville hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and P Hoffmayer homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Herrington earned the win for Pearl River Community College. They gave up three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five and walking none. Janci Aube took the loss for East Central Community College Lady Warriors.

The right-handed pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering six runs on four hits, striking out two, and walking four.

Reagan Bryan, Catherine Stroud, and Kylee Raye DeWitt each collected one hit for the East Central Community College Lady Warriors.

Leadoff hitter M Lavergne led Pearl River Community College with two hits in three at-bats. Hoffmayer, Lavergne, and Daughtery each drove in two runs.
