Lady Warriors Earn MACCC Sweep on the Road

Summit, Ms - The Lady Warriors earned another MACCC sweep over Southwest Community College. Head Coach Leigh White and her staff, Olivia Burns and Katelyn Gruich have Warrior Softball clicking as we inch toward the postseason. The Lady Warriors are in the No. 14 spot in the NJCAA DII softball poll.

 

Game One

East Central Community College Lady Warriors opened the scoring in the first after Sydney Phillips singled, scoring three runs.

The Lady Warriors scored two runs in the top of the third on a home run to left field by Sophia Romero.

East Central Community College Lady Warriors scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run to left field by Janci Aube on a full count.

Emily Collins, the Lady Warriors' starting pitcher, was instrumental in their victory. She allowed zero hits and runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three, earning the win for her team.

A Peuey took the loss for Southwest. The starting pitcher went seven innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking one. Aube collected the save.

Phillips went 1-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with three runs batted in. Aube and Kylee Raye DeWitt each collected two hits for East Central Community College Lady Warriors.

 

Game Two 

 

Emily Collins started the game for East Central Community College Lady Warriors and recorded 15 outs.

The Lady Warriors got on the board in the first inning after Sophia Romero hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

East Central added one run in the second. Jenna Chamblee

hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 2-0.

Collins earned the win for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The right-handed pitcher allowed four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one. L Mounce took the loss for Southwest.

The starting pitcher went two innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking two. Janci Aube collected the save.

Reagan Bryan set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading East Central Community College Lady Warriors with two hits in three at-bats.

Aube, Romero, and Chamblee each drove for the East Central Community College Lady Warriors in one run. Romero led the team with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting five walks for the game. Kylee Raye DeWitt stole two bases. The East Central Community College Lady Warriors stole three bases in the game and turned one double play.
