Lady Warriors Season Ends in Spartanburg

The loss to Co-Lin ended the Lady Warriors' NJCAA World Series run. The Lady Warriors finished the 2023-2024 season with a 36-17 record. Thirty-six total wins ties for the second-most since the 2016-2017 season for Lady Warriors.

 

Kirkwood Second Round 

East Central Community College Lady Warriors Loses Despite Out Hitting Kirkwood Community College

East Central Community College Lady Warriors fell 9-3 to Kirkwood Community College on Monday despite out-hitting them six to three. Reagan Bryan led East Central Community College Lady Warriors with two hits.

Kirkwood Community College jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Lexi Hines grounded out, scoring one run, Peyton Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run, Brenna Ross drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.

East Central Community College Lady Warriors scored two runs in the top of the third on a home run to center field by Bryan.

Peyton Driscoll earned the win for Kirkwood Community College. They allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking three. Janci Aube pitched three and one-third innings in relief for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The reliever gave up two hits and four runs while striking out five and walking six. Emily Collins took the loss for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The right-handed pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on one hit, striking out three and walking six.

Bryan went 2-for-4 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with two runs batted in. Sophia Romero led East Central Community College Lady Warriors with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up four walks for the game.

Co-Lin Elimination Game 

Co-Lin defeated East Central Community College Lady Warriors 12-4 on Wednesday thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning.

Co-Lin jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Abby Grace Richardson doubled, scoring one run; Olivia Banes singled, scoring two runs; Zykeria Cole singled, scoring one run; Bailee Goodson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Madison Moak homered to center field, scoring three runs.

Co-Lin extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to home runs by Moak and Richardson.

Cara Biswell earned the win for Co-Lin. They gave up seven hits and four runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Janci Aube pitched four and one-third innings in relief for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. They surrendered five hits and four runs while striking out three and walking three. Emily Collins took the loss for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. The right-handed pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, allowing eight runs on five hits, striking out none, and walking three. #17 earned the save.

Lauren Dunbar led the Lady Warriors with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Sophia Romero and Reagan Bryan each collected two hits for East Central Community College Lady Warriors. East Central Community College Lady Warriors were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jenna Chamblee made the most plays with five.
