The East Central Community College Lady Warriors dropped the 2022-23 conference opener to Pearl River Community College, 64-15. The loss moved ECCC to 3-7, 0-1 on the year, while the Lady Wildcats from Poplarville improved to 11-0, 1-0. East Central is on the road on Monday, January 9 as the team travels to Clarksdale to take on the Coahoma Tigers at 6 p.m. 

Shooting trouble plagued the Lady Warriors throughout the contest as the Lady Wildcats got out to an early lead. That advantage was maintained for the remainder of the contest as PRCC scored in double digits in each frame. 

East Central's Lexus Keyes, Mady Buckley, and Kaedre Denson all scored four points in the contest, while Denson hauled in a team-high 13 rebounds. PRCC's Hama'ya Fielder and J'Mani scored in double digits with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
