Decatur, MS - The East Central Community College Lady Warriors hosted the visiting #8 Pearl River Wildcats in front of a raucous home crowd. After the tough conference loss, the Lady Warriors fall to 11-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Morgan Freeny came out firing for the Lady Warriors, hitting two back-to-back threes, giving the home team a 6-2 edge. The Miriam Prince got involved, scoring on back-to-back baskets, stretching the lead to 11-4. After early substitutions, Pearl River's second unit got them back in the game. However, the Lady Warriors would not leave quietly early, maintaining the lead through the first quarter.
Pearl Piver began to break away offensively in the second quarter, and the Lady Warriors could never quite get back in the flow offensively.
The second half was more of the same, with the Lady Warriors trailed by as many as 19 despite their repeated comeback attempts.
The Lady Warriors were led in scoring by Miriam Prince and Lexus Keyes with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

The Lady Warriors will return to conference play on Monday at Cohoma Community College at 5:30 PM.
