Farmer and Prince lead the Way for the Lady Warriors

The Lady Warriors overcame a tough offensive night to earn another conference win over Meridian Community College. The Lady Warriors are now 14-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

After a slow start offensively early in the first quarter, Clementina Odom made a two-point field goal, tying the game at eight points.
Late in the second quarter, Miriam Prince buried a deep three-pointer off a Lexus Keyes assist, pushing the lead to 25-11. The Lady Eagles made a run of their own before Morgan Freeny stole the ball and took it coast to coast in transition, finishing with an easy lay-up and leading 27-15. The second half was more of the same. The Lady Warriors never trailed in the second half.

Miriam Prince and Kyla Farmer led the way for the Lady Warriors offensively, scoring 15 and 14 points, respectively. Kyla Farmer posted a double-double, grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds. Mady Buckley also amassed double-digit boards with ten rebounds. The Lady Warriors played excellent team defense, holding the Lady Eagles to twenty-four percent from the field. Clementina Odom was a force in the paint, posting a season-high five blocked shots.

The Lady Warriors will be back in action on Thursday night at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at 5:30 PM.
