The East Central Community College Lady Warriors picked up their first MACCC North Division victory on Friday night as the team defeated the Hinds Lady Eagles, 3-0, in Raymond. The win moves the Lady Warriors to 5-3, 1-3 on the year.

"Great result which matched the performance tonight. I'm delighted for the girls after a rough stretch of defeats to conference teams," said ECCC head coach Ryan Joiner. "The hard work the team has put forth is paying off and I'm excited to see the continued performances in the future."

Nicole O'Neill (Dublin, Ireland) got the scoring started in the first half as she finished off a header off a Sasha Clare (Belfast, United Kingdom) pass across the middle. The goal was the only one of the first half as the Lady Warriors headed to the locker room with a 1-0 advantage. 

Kara Wager (Lucedale) poured in another goal 10 minutes into the second half with an unassisted goal. The goal was the freshman's third of the year and put ECCC on top 2-0. 

Juliana Wells (Poplarville) closed out the scoring with a late goal with less than 11 minutes on the clock. The score makes two matches in a row for Wells to find the net and the shot came off yet another Clare assist. 

The Lady Warriors return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 5 as the team plays host to Co-Lin for a cross-divisional matchup. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. at the ECCC soccer complex in Decatur. Fans can watch the action live at www.eccclive.com/gold.
