Clare and O'Neill Named NJCAA All-Region

Clare and O'Neill Named NJCAA All-Region

East Central's Sasha Clare (Belfast, United Kingdom) and Nicole O'Neill (Dublin, Ireland) have been tabbed NJCAA All-Region 23 for their impressive play on the pitch this fall. This is just the third time in program history that the Lady Warriors have had more than one recipient get the nod as two were named in 2019 in Leah Anderson and Macey Spencer and three in 2016 in Sierra Maness, Gabby Gross, and Katelyn Knuth. The honor comes on the heels of the two sophomores picking up MACCC All-Star honors in November.

Clare played and started in all 14 matches of 2021 and was second on the team in goals scored with seven on the year, three of which proved to be game-winning goals. Despite being listed as a defender, Clare saw action in all areas of play as she helped lead ECCC in multiple positions. She finished her career with 15 goals and six assists through 26 games played. Clare is a two-time First Team All-MACCC recipient and now is the first Lady Warrior to receive back-to-back NJCAA All-Region honors since Macy Spencer in 2018 and 2019. She is just the fourth ECCC player to ever earn the honor as both a freshman and sophomore.

O'Neill played and started in 13 matches and posted four goals and four assists on the year this fall. She finished her career at ECCC with eight goals and eight assists.
