The ECCC Lady Warriors fell to a tough Jones College on Tuesday afternoon, 8-1, in MACCC tennis action. The loss moves the Lady Warriors' record to 5-6 overall, while the Lady Bobcats move to 13-0.
"Our ladies played hard today, especially in singles," said ECCC head coach Jay Pacelli. "Natalia [Beltran] played her best match of the season, picking up a win, and we just showed some terrific fight. Now we look forward to taking on Gulf Coast"
The Lady Bobcats picked up wins in all three doubles matches, before taking five singles courts. Natalia Beltran (Bogota, Colombia) shined at No. 1 as she battled back from a tough 5-7 first set loss. The sophomore earned a 6-2 win in the second set and battled in a tiebreaker that she won 10-6.
The Lady Warriors are on the road on Friday, March 12 as the team travels to Perkinston to take on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Lady Bulldogs at 1 p.m.
